ZONARE SHOWCASES NEW UPGRADES FOR PREMIUM CONVERTIBLE ULTRASOUND™ PLATFORM AT 2008 ANNUAL VASCULAR MEETING

SAN DIEGO – June 5, 2008 – ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc. will highlight new upgrades for its z.one ultrasound system at the 2008 Annual Vascular Meeting, June 5-7 in San Diego, Calif. The premium Convertible Ultrasound™ platform, based on Zone Sonography™ technology, will feature new software, hardware and transducer technology to help vascular surgeons optimize clinical data for more confident diagnoses as well as improve workflow efficiencies.

“The advanced software technologies we are highlighting include performance, archive and display advancements as well calculations improvements and structured reporting for vascular exams – all of which are designed to offer vascular surgeons significant clinical benefits on a daily basis,” said Don Southard, president and CEO at ZONARE Medical Systems. “Additionally, we continue to be pleased by the increasing number of institutions using our technology and we value their investment, as it is very important in our ongoing efforts to provide an ultrasound system with multiple upgrades that contribute to improved patient outcomes and workflow efficiencies.”

The z.one ultrasound platform provides physicians with premium image quality, performance and features offered by traditional cart-based systems and the portability and ease of use offered by hand carried ultrasound units. Clinicians can convert the z.one system from a full-featured, cart-based system into a premium compact ultrasound system and optimize its versatility in a variety of clinical settings, without sacrificing image quality or performance.

At the 2008 Annual Vascular Meeting, the company will highlight its new 2D performance enhancements including the virtual apex array format for a wider field of view on all linear transducers. This new format allows clinicians to view more anatomy and pathology information on a wide range of patient types. The company will also demonstrate its new full-screen live imaging display, which enables physicians to view exams more easily and efficiently by using the entire 19-inch display area on the z.one ultra system. Additionally, the DICOM Structured Reporting for Vascular Exams will be showcased, allowing for automatic transfer of calculation results to a PACS reporting system accepting DICOM structured reporting data. As a result, patient information and reporting is streamlined and more efficient throughout the hospital information system.

The company will also highlight its new multi-transducer port (MTP), which allows clinicians to instantly choose between three different transducers that are connected to the system simultaneously. As a result, patient exam times are shortened because there is significantly less time involved in changing out transducers. In addition, an optional battery pack, which enables cordless scanning for up to three hours with no need to power down or reboot between patients, is now available to customers.

As previously announced by the company on December 20, 2007, the z.one ultra system was awarded the 2007 Best in KLAS for the top Hand-Carried Ultrasound System (HCU) system because it offers excellent value to clinicians worldwide, whether in its cart-based configuration or converted to the system’s compact portable unit.
