MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – July 28, 2009 – ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc. announced it began shipping the new z.one ultra sp ultrasound system to multiple customer sites. The first hospital to receive the new technology is Barnes Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, where Chandra Aubin, M.D., RDMS, Assistant Professor and Assistant Residency Program Director, and her staff will use it for emergency medicine.

The z.one ultra sp has been installed in additional hospitals and imaging centers including Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy, Calif., Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York, Lemaire Surgical in Wilson, North Carolina and several other locations throughout the United States.
The z.one ultra sp is designed for point-of-care markets such as emergency medicine, interventional radiology, venous ablation, anesthesiology and ob/gyn imaging. Building upon the precedent set by the company’s z.one ultra system and the proprietary Zone Sonography™ technology, the z.one ultra sp offers superb image quality as well as a simple and intuitive user interface for a wider base of physicians to make quick, confident clinical decisions for all patient types. Clinicians can easily convert the z.one ultra sp system from a full-featured, cart-based system into a premium compact system without sacrificing image quality or performance.
