ZONARE Medical Systems employs approximately 175 professionals worldwide including 35 engineers. About one-third of these engineers hold a Ph.D. in related sciences, with backgrounds in both the ultrasound industry and leading software technology companies. The ZONARE team is led by a group of medical industry veterans with extensive experience in medical imaging devices.
Donald J. Southard
President and Chief Executive Officer
Donald J. Southard has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer since January 2004. Prior to joining us, Mr. Southard served as President of the Patient Monitoring Division of Datascope Corporation, or Datascope, a publicly-traded medical device company, from 1997 to 2004. Mr. Southard holds an executive M.B.A. from Babson College and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Alabama.
Tim Marcotte
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Tim Marcotte is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Tim most recently served as CFO and VP of Finance and Administration at VNUS Medical Technologies. Before VNUS, he served as COO and CFO of Repeater Technologies, a wireless communications equipment manufacturer, and was CFO at other private and publicly held technology companies over the last 15 years. Marcotte has also been a member of the board of directors of four technology companies. He holds both a B.S. in Anthropology/Zoology and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Douglas W. Tefft
Vice President, International
Douglas W. Tefft has served as our VP,International since April 2003. Prior to joining us, Mr. Tefft served as CFO of Advanced Imaging Technologies, Inc., a medical device company, from September 2001 to January 2003. Mr. Tefft holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
Glen W. McLaughlin, Ph.D.
Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer
Glen W. McLaughlin, Ph.D., has served as our VP of Engineering and CTO since August 1999. Prior to joining us, Dr. McLaughlin held engineering positions at In-Cube, Inc., a medical research laboratory, from July 1994 to July 1999 and Cardiac Pathways Corp., a medical device company, from 1992 to 1994. Dr. McLaughlin holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a M.S. from Stanford University.
Mark M. Miller
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mark M. Miller has served as our VP of Sales and Marketing since March 2003. Prior to joining us, Mr. Miller served as VP of Ultrasound Sales at Siemens Medical Solutions, a medical device company, from March 2001 to March 2003. Mr. Miller holds a B.A. degree in Business Management and History from Albion College.
Robert Terranova
Vice President of Operations
Robert Terranova has served as our VP of Operations since September 2004. Prior to joining us, Mr. Terranova served as Director of Engineering of Datascope's Patient Monitoring Division from August 1983 to September 2004. Mr. Terranova holds an M.B.A. from Montclair State University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Lars Shaw
Vice President of Marketing
Lars Shaw has served as our VP of Marketing since March 2005. Prior to joining us, Mr. Shaw was Director of Worldwide General Imaging Marketing at Siemens Ultrasound, a medical device company that develops ultrasound products, from March 2001 to March 2005. Mr. Shaw holds an M.B.A. from San Jose State University, a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida and an A.S. in Ultrasound from Santa Fe Community College.
